FarmGuard
We're hiringSomewhere in Malaysia right now, a poultry farmeris watching another cycle underperform. We're the team fixing that — with better systems.

Not because of bad luck. Not because of poor farming. Because the infrastructure running his farm was never properly engineered.

If you want your work to show up in the real world — not a dashboard nobody checks — keep reading.

Why we exist

The poultry industry feeds millions of Malaysians. It's been running on outdated infrastructure for decades.

There's a contract broiler farmer in Negeri Sembilan managing six chicken houses. Fifteen years of experience. Knows his birds, knows his cycles, works harder than most people reading this page ever will.

His FCR is inconsistent. His mortality spikes every third cycle. Nobody has seriously looked at his lighting rhythm, his water line hygiene, or the air quality inside his houses — because until now, nobody built the system to do it.

He is not an edge case. He is the norm.

The tools exist to fix this. The science is understood. What's been missing is a team willing to engineer these solutions specifically for poultry farms — and build the operational layer to deploy them at scale across Malaysia.

That is what FarmGuard is building. We're not a hardware company. We're not a consultancy. We're a biosecurity systems firm — and we're approaching the oldest industry in the country with the rigour and ambition of a technology company.

We're looking for people who see that gap the same way we do.

The numbers we track
FCRFeed conversion ratio — the number that tells the truth
MortalityTracked every cycle, without exception
UniformityThe number most farms aren't measuring yet
What we actually believe

Three convictions we won't compromise on.

01 —

Outcomes over optics

We don't celebrate effort. We track FCR, mortality, and flock uniformity — and we hold ourselves accountable to whether those numbers move after we've been involved. We don't oversell. We don't stay quiet when a farm needs to hear something difficult. And we don't call something a success until the data says so.

This is not a place for people who are satisfied with looking like they're making a difference. It's for people who need to actually make one.

02 —

Small is not a compromise. Small is the architecture.

We are 5–15 people. Deliberately. In a team this size, your decisions ship. Your instincts get tested against reality within weeks, not quarters. The best technology companies in the world stayed small longer than their competitors were comfortable with — because they knew that close teams make better decisions, move faster, and build things that actually hold together.

If you want the safety of a large organisation, we are the wrong place. If you want the kind of ownership that only a small team can offer — we are exactly the right place.

The farm is our source of truth

Every important insight we have has come from being on a farm. Not from reading about farms, not from modelling farm data — from standing inside a poultry house and understanding what's actually happening. If you join FarmGuard, you will spend time on farms — regardless of your role. Because the best decisions in this company will always come from people who have seen the problem with their own eyes.

The field is not a field trip. It is where we do our best thinking.

What we're actually building

A 0.1 improvement in FCR is not a statistic. It's a family's income, stabilised.

Feed conversion ratio — the kilograms of feed required to produce one kilogram of bird — is the most important operational metric in poultry farming. A small, sustained improvement changes what a farm can plan for. Lower feed cost per kilogram. Mortality that doesn't spike unpredictably. A farmer who can look at the next cycle with confidence instead of anxiety.

We are building a performance standard for Malaysian poultry farming that has never existed before. Proving, farm by farm, that consistent FCR and low mortality are not the result of luck or scale — they are the result of the right systems, properly deployed and properly supported. That is what you are joining.

What changes when farms perform consistently
For the farmer

Predictable income. Lower operating risk. The ability to plan forward instead of just surviving the next cycle.

For the industry

A reference point. Proof that consistent performance is achievable — and replicable — at any farm size.

For Malaysia

A more stable, more efficient food supply chain. Fewer production shocks. More reliable protein for millions of families who depend on it.

What it's like here

We think like a technology company. We work like people who've actually been to a farm.

We are rigorous about systems. We are obsessive about outcomes. We move fast, we iterate on what isn't working, and we hold ourselves to whether the product — in the real world, with real farmers — actually performs.

At FarmGuard, you'll work in an environment that expects systems thinking, rewards intellectual honesty, and measures success in outcomes — not hours or optics. You'll also spend more time in poultry houses than you probably expected. Both of these things are features, not bugs.

What working here actually looks like
01

Your work has a direct, visible outcome — not a metric three layers removed from reality

02

Flat structure — you'll work alongside founders from your first week

03

Fast feedback loops — what you build gets tested in the field quickly

04

Ownership from day one — nobody is waiting for permission here

05

A team that is serious about the mission and straightforward with each other

06

Competitive compensation for a company at our stage

Join us

We hire for how people think, not just what they've done.

We're a small team taking on a large, underleveraged problem. The people who thrive here are intellectually curious, outcome-oriented, and comfortable doing work that doesn't have a template yet.

Most people want to do work that matters.

Very few find a place that lets them.

This is that place — if you're the right person for it. If you've read this far, you already know whether this is for you.
